Case Study: Grandview Heights Schools

Whitespace: A Small Place to Dream Big

Located in a fast growing and popular inner ring suburb, the Grandview Heights City School District sought a positioning and brand image which reflected its status as one of the best performing public school systems in the state and country. This work was pivotal to an impending ballot initiative for the first major renovation and construction project in over a century. VENN”s pro bono work resulted in a comprehensive new brand positioning which communicated Grandview Heights history as one of the oldest school districts in Greater Columbus by accentuating the benefits of unique differences including its small size, academic achievement, rich heritage and exceedingly high level of student and parent engagement. This new positioning was expressed in the form of a new tagline  – “A small place to dream big”, a new name for the district – “Grandview Heights Schools” and brand story. VENN’s Collective member Stacy Buttari led the design of a new academic identity,  new spirit logo and visual brand expression. Detailed brand standards empowered the district to successfully and consistently execute all aspects of the new brand across all sports, clubs, academic and arts organizations, digitally, environmentally and in print.
